I have been an active member of QASEL since 2015. Throughout this time, I have shown a commitment to advocacy work for our special education colleagues and students.

I have held the following positions within QASEL:

• Interim President (6 months)

• Vice-President

• Management member

• QASEL Conference Brisbane – conference convenor (2024)

• QASEL Conference Townsville – 2022 and 2024

I have also represented the association through involvement with the Australian Special Education Principals Association.

I am the Principal of Townsville Community Learning Centre – A State Special School – in North Qld. Since commencing in this position, along with my NQ colleagues. I have strategically increased the QASEL membership within the NQ region. Alliances with colleagues within the FNQ region have, again, strengthened the work of QASEL within these regions.

We have promoted the members of regional members through the introduction of the Townsville QASEL conferences. (Please note, that my regional colleagues are the conference organisers of the 2026 Townsville conference).

I have been actively involved in the organisation of the annual QASEL conference for many years. During 2024 I took on the role of the conference convenor.

I would be honoured to continue my advocacy for all things special education through continued involvement with QASEL as a member of the Management team.
