I believe that through service, we learn. My work with and for QASEL has shaped me as a person and a leader, and I am committed to continuing that service as a member of the Management Committee for 2027-2028.
In my current role, I co-design and lead the EFI’s professional development programs focused on special education. Working closely with schools, teachers and leaders deepens my understanding of their needs and strengthens the knowledge and perspective I can bring to QASEL’s work.
An effective Management Committee brings diverse expertise, sound judgement and a shared commitment to supporting the Executive and serving members. My experience on QASEL’s Executive and Management Committee, together with my work in leadership development, positions me to contribute to informed decisions and professional learning that responds to members’ needs.
Receiving QASEL Life Membership this year was an honour. It reinforced my appreciation for an association whose members demonstrate daily the difference that committed special educators make in young people’s lives. I would welcome the opportunity to continue contributing to QASEL’s work and supporting the leaders who serve our special education community.
Thank you for considering my nomination.
