I am currently Head of Department Curriculum at Townsville Community Learning Centre and have worked within the special education sector for the past 12 months. During this time, I have developed a strong appreciation of the opportunities and challenges facing special-school leaders, particularly in curriculum development, instructional leadership and improving outcomes for students with intellectual disability. I am keen to participate more actively in the sector by contributing my skills, experience and perspective to QASEL.

I bring previous governance and committee experience, having served as both Treasurer and a committee member of my local Chamber of Commerce. I am also an active member of QATESOL, Queensland’s state TESOL association, and earlier in 2026 led its Events Subcommittee in delivering a successful conference in Townsville. These roles have strengthened my capacity to collaborate, contribute constructively to strategic discussions and represent the interests of diverse stakeholders. I will also be presenting at the upcoming QASEL conference in Townsville and would welcome the opportunity to extend my involvement by serving on the QASEL Management Committee.
