2025
Metro South Regional Councillor
Kacie Howard

I am a passionate advocate for equal opportunity for students with a disability especially in the Vocational Education, Senior Schooling and post school transition space. For the last year and a half I have acted in various capacities as a Deputy Principal at Western Suburbs State Special School and the state wide SETA RTO manager.
In my RTO Manager role, I have grown SETA from working with 7 Special Schools 9 years ago to working with 29 Special Schools across the state currently. The RTO is providing students in Special Schools with the opportunity to exit school with Nationally Recognised Training at a Certificate I level and providing student with work ready transitional skill sets.
I have been involved with QASEL for 9 years and presented on SETA several times at QASEL conferences, am a financial member and have been working this year with the QASEL president to advocate for Special Schools in the VET space.
I want to use my knowledge and skills in the high school space and the state wide knowledge I possess of Special Schools from my work in SETA to assist QASEL in supporting the development of strong leaders in the Special Education space.
